SciSci is a new science media organization, launched in January 2025. We try to offer detailed coverage of topics in current research for a technical readership through deep engagement with working scientists and their communities.
Above all, we want to use technical interviews with scientists as a way to allow them to more freely express their working outlooks on their research, and share knowledge not found in their papers.
Our coverage is published in our SciFrontiers series, which can be read for free.
As a gesture of openness, we also publish SciSci Methods reports on the techniques we develop for our coverage, which are written for a broader readership: anyone interested in building pleasant engagement with the scientific community.

SciSci was founded by James Douglas Boyd, who is also the CEO and Editor-in-Chief. The groundwork for SciSci was set with the support of a 2024-2025 Open Science Fellowship by the Astera Institute, a nonprofit based in Berkeley, California. Previously, Boyd was the CEO of the Wolfram Institute, which he co-founded with Stephen Wolfram; he was previously Wolfram's research assistant.
